Our Approach

Raditaz, LLC ("Raditaz") knows that you take your privacy seriously. We do too. We are committed to giving you transparency of our privacy practices and control over your data in connection with the Raditaz Services. The purpose of the Raditaz Privacy Policy is to inform our listeners about Raditaz's treatment of personally identifiable information ("Personal Information") and other data that Raditaz gathers when you are accessing the Raditaz Services. This Privacy Policy informs users about the information that Raditaz collects, how Raditaz uses that information and how listeners can control how that information is used and/or shared. Below we highlight some key issues to keep in mind about our data collection and use practices. For information about listeners' obligations and use of Raditaz, please see our Terms of Use.

  • You have significant control over the information that is shared with other Raditaz users and the public through the privacy settings for your profile.
  • We do not sell or give your email address to other companies for their marketing purposes.
  • Information that you post in our community and social networking features is available to members of the public. So, be smart and think about what you post.
  • We use the information that we collect and you provide about yourself to personalize your Raditaz experience through ads and social networking features.
  • We track the music played on Raditaz so that we can make sure artists and copyright owners get paid. We must report on listening in aggregate to music licensing agencies. These reports do not contain individual listener data.
  • Stations you create will be available to the public unless you otherwise mark them as private. Creation of private stations requires a free Raditaz account. Privacy settings can be controlled per station, both at the time a station is created and afterward.

About our Privacy Policy

This privacy policy ("Privacy Policy") is effective as of December 10, 2010, for Raditaz, LLC ("Raditaz", "we", "us" or "our"). It applies to the United States operations for the Internet radio services that we offer through our web site located at www.raditaz.com, supported mobile devices, consumer electronics devices and other mechanisms (collectively, the "Raditaz Services").

We will continue to evaluate this Privacy Policy against new technologies, business practices, and our listeners' needs, and may make changes to the Privacy Policy accordingly. Please check this page periodically for updates. If we make material changes in the way we use Personal Information, we will notify you by posting an announcement on our Service or sending you an email. Users are bound by any changes to the Privacy Policy when he or she uses the Service after such changes have been first posted.

The Types of Information That We Collect

We have several areas where you can submit information to us, and we also have features that automatically collect information from the listeners of the Raditaz Services and visitors to our Site.

Information That You Give Us

To enable you to enjoy certain features of the Raditaz Services, we may collect certain types of information, including personally identifiable information, during your interactions with the Raditaz Services. The types of Personal Information collected may include your name, email address, phone number, birthday, Twitter and/or Facebook usernames, user information regarding the use of of our Partners or other sign-in pages to send to you when you log on to the Raditaz Services.

Tracking technology: We use what are commonly called "cookies," a small data string our server writes to your hard drive, and other tracking technology (such as Flash Persistent Storage) to help us manage and track your interaction with Raditaz Services. When you use the Service, Raditaz automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser or mobile platform, including your location, IP address, cookie information, and the page you requested. These technologies collect non-personally identifiable information to improve the Raditaz Services, to keep count of return visits to our site or our advertisers' or partners' sites, collect and report on aggregate statistical information, save your password and login information, and/or display advertising or content based on your interests. We may also capture other data such as search criteria and results, date, time, connection speed and IP addresses. Third parties whose products or services are accessible or advertised via the Raditaz Services may also use cookies, and we advise you to check their privacy policies for information about their cookies and other privacy practices.

We also use third party advertising companies to deliver ads to you when you use the Raditaz Services. In the course of providing this service, our third-party advertising companies may place or recognize a unique cookie on your browser which collects non-personally identifiable information about your visits to Raditaz, such as the number of times you have viewed an ad (but not your name, address, e-mail address, telephone number or other personally identifiable information).

How We Use the Information We Collect

Personal Information about our users is an integral part of our business. We neither rent nor sell your Personal Information to anyone. We use the information that we collect for the following purposes:

  1. To customize and personalize the advertising and the content you see.
  2. To enable your "friends" to see locations that you've saved stations at and the name of the station. Your friends can also play a station that you've linked to a specific location.
  3. To enhance the listener experience in our network of sites. We use tracking information to determine how well each page and station performs overall based on aggregate listener demographics and traffic patterns to those pages and stations. This helps us continue to build a better service for you.
  4. To fulfill your requests for certain products and services, such as sending out electronic newsletters and enabling you to participate in and renew paid services, polls, contests, and message boards.
  5. To send you information that you agreed to receive about topics that we think will be of interest to you.
  6. To alert you to Raditaz Services' latest developments and features.

We also may use and share non-personally identifiable information. The use and disclosure of such information is not subject to any restrictions under this Privacy Policy. Additionally, we may de-identify personally identifiable information and share it in a de-identified or aggregated form with third parties, advertisers and/or business partners in order to analyze site usage, improve the Raditaz Services and your listener experience, or for other similar purposes.

How the Information That We Collect is Shared

We will make your personally identifiable information available to other companies, websites, applications or people in the circumstances listed below.

  1. You provide information in the course of your use of the Raditaz Services by participating in community and social networking features such as forums, station sharing, listener opinions and reviews, or other forms of public communication and interaction. In addition, we also make your stations available to those registered listeners who know your email address and who specifically request your station as well as those listeners who are listening at a location with their mobile device.
  2. You elect to allow us to share information at the time that you register with us or provide us with the information, or through a subsequent affirmative election.
  3. When we hire or partner with third parties including laws outside your country of residence; enforce friends on other social networks, including Facebook.

How We Protect Your Information

We have implemented commercially reasonable physical and electronic security measures to protect against the loss, misuse, and/or alteration of your personally identifiable information. Despite our best efforts, however, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable.

Is Personal Information About Me Secure?

Your Raditaz account Personal Information is protected by a password for your privacy and security. You need to prevent unauthorized access to your account and Personal Information by selecting and protecting your password appropriately, and limiting access to your computer and browser by signing off after you have finished accessing your account.

Raditaz endeavors to safeguard user information to ensure that user account information is kept private. However, Raditaz cannot guarantee the security of user account information. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors, may compromise the security of user information at any time.

The Service may contain links to other sites. Raditaz is not responsible for the privacy policies and/or practices on other sites. When linking to another site, you should read the privacy policy stated on that site. This Privacy Policy only governs information collected on the Service.

Consent to Processing

Use of Raditaz outside of the United States is a violation of our Terms of Use. Nevertheless, if you use Raditaz outside of the United States, you fully understand and unambiguously consent to the transfer of such personal information to, and the collection and processing of such personal information in the United States and other countries or territories. The laws on holding personal information in the United States may vary and be less stringent than laws of your state or country.

What Are My Privacy Options and How Can I Change My Settings?

To modify your user information, log into Raditaz, then hover over your account name at the top right and click "My Account" in the menu. In the dialog that opens, you can change your display name or reset your password.

Registered listeners may also contact one of our listener support representatives by email at support@raditaz.com.

Your election not to receive newsletters, promotional and marketing correspondence, and other notices from us will not preclude us (including our employees, contractors, agents and other representatives) (a) from corresponding with you, by email or otherwise, regarding your existing or past relationship with us, or (b) including our employees, contractors, agents and other representatives, from accessing and viewing your personal information in the course of maintaining and improving the Raditaz Services.
